'It's like they never miss a pass': The Swans' Galbraith resumes contest with Pep's side.

Ethan Galbraith breaks into a smile as he remembers the thrilling closing stages of his team's stunning fightback triumph against Nottingham Forest in the League Cup. The encounter wrapped up with Galbraith temporarily wearing a supporter's spectacles after the pitch-side pile-on.

During the final moments of stoppage time, Galbraith cracked the upright with a powerful shot from 25 yards, and his teammate promptly hammered in the deflection before racing off toward the East Stand to revel in the moment, with the crowd swarming the players.

Remarkable Recovery

The result sealed an unbelievable turnaround given the team had found themselves down 2-0 deep into the latter period. In the celebrations, there was some unintended consequences. He shared, "There was a spectator sort of calling out and we were thinking: 'What's he on about here?' Then we noticed the glasses. It was a light-hearted moment putting them on. We are on the pitch as players but we're humans, too, so to have a laugh with the fans is always good."

Premier League Giants

That win booked a upcoming match at home against Manchester City on Wednesday, opponents Galbraith came close against at the same stage of the FA Cup with his former club in February. The athletic midfielder had an excellent perspective when Orient took the lead in remarkable manner, with Jamie Donley's volley from about way out going in via the woodwork and the Stefan Ortega. Many argued that it was recorded as an own goal.

"You would have hoped they would've awarded it to him for having a go from that far out," commented Galbraith, who started in midfield before switching to right defensive wing after the team changed tactics. That meant competing with City's winger, with whom he exchanged jerseys, and the attacker was among the Manchester squad who praised the way Orient attacked the game.

City's Quality

"Physically they are very good but even the basics and basic skills, they can just do it over and over again," he explains. "It seems as if they always find their target and they know how to control and neutralize a game. You can feel you're holding your own and then abruptly they will just fizz a pass through a line without you even seeing. You have to be focused every second of the game. It requires a strong mentality and concentration just to keep pace."

Welsh Transition

Swansea sought to acquire Galbraith in January and beat off competition to sign him in the summer in a £1.5m deal. He established himself as a fans' favourite across multiple campaigns at Orient and has rapidly done the same in Wales. At Orient he joined forces once more with Richie Wellens, who four years ago gave Galbraith his debut prolonged spell in senior football on loan at a League One side from Manchester United. Then came a spell at fourth-tier Salford, before he permanently left Manchester United.

Growth Journey

"I was likely a bit naive going into men's football. I think many athletes would say development squad matches is very different. Sometimes it feels like possession is exchanged without serious challenge. There's not many tackles or duels. Once you start playing men's games you have to learn quickly."

International Recognition

He has shown that maturation for his team and nation, performing well for the Green and White Army, who remain in contention for the global tournament next summer via the knockout phase and for whom he has featured in the recent fixtures, including home and away fixtures against a football powerhouse. His former international manager, Galbraith's ex- international manager, gave him the highest praise, saying he was Northern Ireland's "creative maestro" given how he controls possession and his ability to spot a decisive through ball.

Humble Beginnings

This represents a remarkable path for the player from the Queens Park estate in Glengormley, just outside Belfast, who grew up watching his father, Stuart, also a engine room operator, play for Ballyclare Comrades.

Manchester United Experience

The player's single match for Manchester United came in the away trip in 2019, a continental tournament trip to the Kazakh capital, where they competed on an synthetic surface and the arena covering was shut owing to temperatures of bitter cold. "It was a extended travel and it was freezing," he says, smiling. "The preceding week, myself and quite a few of the young lads trained together, so that helped us acclimatise. Just to join the main group and get a couple of minutes at the end was amazing."

Departing Old Trafford

How hard was it to leave United, the club he joined from Linfield aged a teenager? "It was relatively straightforward, because I got to the stage where I realized I wouldn't break through at the senior squad. I'm hugely grateful for the years at the club but it reached a stage where I thought I had to take a different path, drop down the leagues and play men's football. Now I'm gradually working my way back up."

Life in Swansea

This occurs during the early part of the afternoon at Swansea's Fairwood training base but Galbraith has somewhere to be at 5pm: a learner's exam, another progress toward getting on the road. Prior to relocating to Sketty, the 24-year-old was a frequent passenger in Swansea's nicknamed fun bus, a team vehicle driven by team personnel, the transport team, which transports players to and from training and matches.

"I travel with Gonçalo Franco, the Brazilian, the midfielder – the Swedish defender used to be in it but has started driving. It's enjoyable to interact with the lads but I'm aiming to be the subsequent individual out of the minibus and driving. The Portuguese player is known for his humor; he's always up to all sorts."

Public Engagement

While playing for Orient, Galbraith would blend in with followers on public transport after commuting at the area he lived in. "I tried|I attempted|My aim
